Welcome New Families

Welcome to KIS International School Bangkok! We’re delighted that you’ve chosen us for your child’s educational journey.

Throughout our rich history, KIS has provided a nurturing environment that balances academics, extracurriculars, and a strong sense of community. Our dedicated teaching staff, parent association (KISPA), and leaders have played pivotal roles in making KIS a warm, friendly, and supportive space for both students and their families.

At the heart of our curriculum and ethos are the renowned programs of the International Baccalaureate (IB) organization. These programs emphasize the holistic development of each child, with a strong academic foundation that is not only world-renowned but also externally moderated.

We invite you to explore the resources on this page to ensure a smooth start to the school term.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

As an “Apple School” and “JAMF” school, KIS requires students in Grades 5 through 12 to participate in our Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL) program for daily academic use. The program encourages independence, engagement, and the development of skills essential for the 21st Century.

All students in Grade 5 to Grade 12 must bring a fully charged MacBook on a daily basis for optimal compatibility with classroom resources and seamless syncing with school infrastructure. Students in the DP programme may optionally bring a second device, an iPad, to support the DP curriculum, but still must bring a MacBook. The exact same settings and applications apply to the optional iPad for the DP programme as well. Mobile phones, smart watches, and other computing models are prohibited and should not be used during the school day.

MacBook Air or higher model is recommended for Grade 9 or above students who take Design or Design Technology as one of their core subjects.

Parental Management Recommendation: KIS strongly recommends that students in the MYP Programme do not use an “Adminstrator” account on their laptops. Instead parents are advised to create a “Standard” user account for their child and retain the Administrator password themselves. This prevents students from installing unapproved software or games, ensuring an optimal learning environment with minimal distractions.
