Week Without Walls

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Week Without Walls (WWW) is a key experiential learning programme at KIS International School Reignwood Park that extends learning beyond the classroom and into real-world contexts. Through thoughtfully designed trips within Thailand, students are encouraged to explore authentic environments, collaborate with peers, and apply their learning in meaningful and memorable ways.

These experiences support personal growth, deepen global and local understanding, and help students develop essential life skills such as independence, resilience, teamwork, and reflective thinking. Week Without Walls also strongly supports the development of the IB Learner Profile, encouraging students to be open-minded, principled, and willing to take informed risks.

Examples of our Week Without Walls trips include visits to Rayong for Grade 6, where students explored the ecosystems along the sea coast, in limestone caves, and the mangrove sanctuary, and also examined human impact on sustainability. Grades 7 and 8 spent several days in Khao Yai National Park to better understand the habits and needs of various wildlife like elephants and bats, and also explored the important species of flora in the park. Grades 9 and 10 travelled to Kanchanaburi, focusing on multitude subjects including World War 2 history, biodiversity and the relationship between human activity and animal life, allowing students to connect classroom learning with real-world environmental issues. In each of the trips, students also enjoyed the water activities like kayaking, climbing, stargazing, and team-building fun games.

By immersing students in hands-on learning experiences and diverse settings, Week Without Walls plays an important role in bringing the KIS Reignwood Park vision and mission to life, creating meaningful learning that extends far beyond school walls.
