Our Grade 8 and 9 Mandarin students recently journeyed to the Chinese Culture Center, where they immersed themselves in the art and heritage of Chinese cuisine! This hands-on adventure brought them face-to-face with authentic flavors and the cultural stories that season every dish.
Weeks later, inspired by their trip, students took their skills to the next level with a lively, cooking show-inspired assessment! In a Criterion C Speaking showcase, they transformed their knowledge into fun presentations, delicious demos, and tastings that wowed the audience. From stovetop to spotlight, their Mandarin language skills shone as bright as their culinary creations!
Experiences like these bring language and culture to life, enriching our students’ Mandarin learning journey in the most memorable way. We can’t wait to see what they cook up next!
